Our Story
Rooted in Community, Built by Hand
Gadugi Crafts began with a simple idea: give Cherokee artisans in and around Tahlequah, Oklahoma a place to share their work with the world, on their own terms. "Gadugi" — a Cherokee word meaning people coming together to work for the common good — felt like the only name that fit.
Today, the studio is led by our two primary artisans, Keli Oosahwee and Joseph Price, who create every piece across beadwork, pottery, painting, basketry, walking sticks, and mixed media. Gadugi Crafts also welcomes collaborations with other Cherokee artisans looking for a place to sell their work.
Our Values
Community First
Every sale supports the artisan directly and strengthens the Cherokee community here at home.
Authentic Craftsmanship
Every piece is made by hand, by a Cherokee artisan, using traditional techniques and materials.
Respect for Tradition
We honor the stories and skills behind each craft, and share them thoughtfully with every customer.
